Grease a 8 1/2 x 4 1/2-inch (6 cup) loaf pan. Cream butter and sugar in large bowl. Mix rest of dry ingredients together in small bowl. Combine the two mixtures and beat until blended. Gradually beat in eggs. Fold in thee bananas just until combined. You may optionally add 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans. Scrape batter into the pan and spread evenly. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 50 to 60 minutes.
