* Exported from MasterCook * English Muffin Bread Recipe By :Cathy Frantisak Serving Size : 16 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 5 cups bread flour 1 tablespoon sugar 2 teaspoons salt 1 tablespoon active dry yeast 1/2 cup warm water 2 1/2 cups milk -- warmed 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 1 tablespoon water -- wamed In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups flour, yeast, sugar and salt, mix. Add milk and water, beat until smooth. Stir in remaining flour to make a stif dough. Cover; let rise in a warm place until light and double in size, about 1 hour. Dissolve soda in 1 tablespoon of warm water. Stir down yeast batter; blend in soda mixture, mixing until well blended. Divide the batter between two greased 8 x 4 inch glass loaf pans. Cover and let rise in a warm place until double (about 45 minutes).
