* Exported from MasterCook * Pita Bread Recipe By :David Donaghue Serving Size : 8 Preparation Time :2:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 5 Cups bread flour 1 teaspoon sugar 2 teaspoons salt 1 tablespoon active dry yeast 2 cups water -- warmed 3 tablespoons oil Mix dry ingredients in a bowl. Add water and oil. Mix well. Knead for 10 minutes. Form into a ball and coat with oil. Let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, about double in volume.. Punch down and roll into eight 8 inch rounds. Place two rounds on a cookie sheet. Bake for 14 minutes in preheated degree oven. They are done when they just start to brown on the bottom. Mist with water after removing from oven.
